The Face to Face with Greatness SeminarsTM are a series of 2-day seminars that run over a 16-20 month period.  Although each seminar is a “stand alone” experience, attending them in order is the most effective means of really getting a handle on how to apply these principles. As we stated earlier, education should be enjoyable and exciting.  If it is student driven, not coerced by parent anxiety, it will be a blast. Remember, if you and your kids do not love education, you are doing something wrong.

Seminar #1 – A Thomas Jefferson Education: The seven keys of great teaching, is designed to introduce you to the concepts, principles, philosophy and methodology of what we call TJED. The over-arching principle of TJED is that all true education is student initiated and student driven. You will experience captivating lectures, enjoyable workshops, enlightening colloquia (small group discussion), and warm and engaging personal mentoring. Completion of the suggested readings is necessary to fully participate and gain the most from this intense but friendly seminar. Seminar #2 –A Thomas Jefferson Education: Mentoring the Classics

The definition of a classic is “something that you experience and learn truth, experience again and learn more truth.” This seminar is designed specifically for parents who now have personal experiences with TJED and who are looking for specific answers to personal questions. Although we do an extensive review of the principles from seminar one, this is only the beginning. This is a transformational seminar that builds confidence in your ability to apply TJED in your home, and begins your journey of getting a world-class, Thomas Jefferson, liberal arts education yourself.

Seminar #3 – Social leadership: your role in the future of America

There is a language of leadership that allows us to participate in the grander picture of how the world goes round and provide our own influence. It is called the Great Debate.

This seminar is designed to jump start your own world-class education and involvement in that debate. Intended for older students who may have been out of the classroom for a few years, you will be amazed at your ability to engage and take part in the discussions and lectures. From a deep look at the foundations of liberty, to in-depth colloquium to diagramming documents, to discussions on human nature and how to participate in Social Leadership. The principle “You not Them” is fully emphasized.  All of the great intellects, inventors, statesmen and luminaries from 700B.C. to today have participated in this Dialogue or Debate.
