The Brooks
Dr. Shanon Brooks is the president of Face to Face with Greatness Seminars (www.facetofacewithgreatness.com), which teaches the popular principles of A Thomas Jefferson Education. He is also the owner of Plutarch Publishing (www.plutarchpublishing.com), which distributes the printed materials that outline the philosophy of leadership education. He is the former president of George Wythe University and a founder of the Center for Social Leadership (www.thesocialleader.com). A native of Seattle, Washington, Dr. Brooks loves hiking, reading, farming, and chopping wood.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, a master’s degree in education, and a PhD in constitutional law. He has traveled extensively throughout the country and abroad and served four years in the U.S. Naval Submarine Fleet.
Shanon and his wife Julia live with their six children in Monticello, Utah.
We love living in our little town of Monticello (pop. 1,900). we have lots of chickens, a big garden and backyard, acres and acres of neighboring fields and a golf course that the kids love to sneak around on. Monticello is a farming community, so we are surrounded by wheat fields and lots of animals.
We love to take family walks around Lloyd’s Lake (1 mile away), and hike and fish in the Blue Mountains which is literally in our backyard (lots of ponds and small lakes). Amber (19) and Jon (17) have a nice group of friends here. They are both working on their college studies with their dad and Amber works for Face to Face With Greatness seminars. Ginnie (15), Ben (13), Donya (10) and Sammy (8) are on first name basis at the local library and are home educated.
Julia and Shanon enjoy raising this large family in such a wonderful rural area. When not speaking around the country, Shanon rarely leaves the family mini-farm.
